Mangaluru: “Poojary made a mistake, I don’t know how and why I said that I will contribute Rs 50,000 per month to the family of Journalist Chethan Ram Iranthakaje who died due to a massive heart attack on February 11, I apologise for my mistake. When I came to the press club on February 13, there was a condolence meet and journalists requested me to join in. It was a sad moment and I thought of helping the family of Chethan Ram and announced Rs 50,000. Being emotional everything happened on the spur of the moment. I apologise for my mistake I have committed”, said senior congress leader Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at the Kudroli Temple premises here on February 18.
Addressing the mediapersons Poojary said, “I get Rs 50,000 pension every month, out of which I donate Rs 30,000 to various Ashrams. People should think of my situation and see whether I can pay the said amount every month or not. What I said on the spur of the moment has been highlighted in the media. When do not have the money, from where can I pay the said amount to Chethan’s family? If what I said has hurt Chethan’s family members, I apologise to them.”

Poojary further said, “The Temple pond Pushkarini and the garden in Kudroli temple will be named after Narayana Swami on February 19. Narayana Swami is an entrepreneur from Bengaluru and president of Edukki community who had financially helped during the renovation of the Kudroli temple. Narayana Swami died due to cancer. We are very grateful for his contribution towards the Kudroli temple. We will rename the Temple pond and the garden after Narayan Swami.”
No problems Sir. At least you have given Rs 50000/ to the family. That itself is a great gesture. You will have the blessings of the family.
