Poojary should Stop Praising Modi and Support Congress Candidate – Mohammed Kunhi

Mangaluru: Janardhan Poojary is a senior leader who was once the union minister. He is very close to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Being a National leader praising the opposition leader is not fair. The Congress high command will decide the candidates for the LS Polls. Poojary in a press meet had said that Narendra Modi should become the prime minister to eliminate corruption. Being the senior Congress leader he should not give such statements. I request the Congress leaders to stop him from giving such confusing statements”, said the district president of JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi in a press meet held at Hotel Woodland here on March 16.

Addressing the mediapersons Mohammed Kunhi said, “Janardhan Poojary has said that if Dr Rajendra Kumar is given the ticket he will contest against him. He also said Ivan D’Souza should not be given the ticket. Let the high command decide the candidate, why is Poojary opposing? Such confusing statements are not good for the party, the Congress leaders should stop Poojary from giving such statements”.

Mohammed Kunhi further said, “We have requested the senior Congress leaders like Siddaramaiah and Dinesh Gundu Rao to stop Poojary from giving such statements. We will meet the district Congress leaders in this regard. We want a good Congress leader to contest the elections and win the LS polls. Many BJP leaders are not happy with Nalin Kumar Kateel and there is misunderstanding within the BJP leaders. We will go to every village to campaign and do everything for the Congress candidate to win the elections. We don’t know who will get the ticket, but it is our duty to campaign in favour of the Congress candidate. Let Janardhan Poojary meet Sonia Gandhi and discuss about the candidate, let he stop giving such statements.”
