Posing as CBI officer, two loot Gold Chain from Senior Citizen
Udupi: A senior Citizen fell prey to two cunning robbers as they looted around 24 grams of gold worth Rs 50000 from him by posing as CBI officers on Tuesday, December 25 at Ambagilu Junction.
The victim Venkatramana Acharya (68) a resident of Thangadangadi was on his way to Ambagilu to bring flowers, a person arrived on a Bike and introduced another person, they identified themselves as CBI officers.
With an intention to loot, they questioned Venkatramana Acharya and then advised him to remove the gold chain and wristwatch with Rs 1000 cash and put it in the handkerchief. The accused personally helped Venkatramana Acharya to put the ornaments in handKerchief, gave it to him and left. When Acharya reached home and opened the handkerchief he found that his gold chain was missing.
A case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police Station.
