Praise The Lord! Catholic Masses to begin at Churches on 13 June after Covid-19 Guidelines are in Order
Mangaluru: Finally good news for the Faithful, especially the seniors, who are not happy with following the Holy Masses either on TV Channels or Internet or Smart Phones etc- in over a week from now, the Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha has made an announcement from the Mangaluru Diocese, and issued certain guidelines for celebrating Mass in Churches starting from 13 June 2020.
We all know that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the government had announced a lockdown in the country, where religious places such as Mosques, Temples and churches were closed for the devotees from the past two-and-half months. Now that the government has finally given a green signal to open the religious places from June 8, however, in this connection, the Bishop of Mangaluru has issued the guidelines to be followed for the celebration of masses- and that only after the required arrangements are made pertaining to Covid-19 scare, and after ensuring that all the necessary requirements are in order, Masses should be celebrated in the churches from 13 June 2020.
Sadly, the recent Lent season turned out to be the toughest for the faithful in the past several years even as it is about to end. Catholic faithful missed the commemoration of Holy Week and Easter celebrations due to the coronavirus scare and lockdown. 77-year-old Ms Mary Pinto speaking to Team Mangalorean said “We are a joint family of three generations. In all my 70 plus years, this year has been the toughest, with people unable to worship together. We had to increase family prayers in the absence of mass in churches. It has been difficult missing the wonderful things of the Holy Week. I simply didn’t like watching the Lent masses and Easter mass on TV. I am glad that the Churches will open on 13 June, so I can keep my Church going tradition which I followed for seven decades”.

“We were in awe of how much we enjoyed being around the church since childhood. It feels so agonizing that we missed everything for the first time, but we had to accept this physical detachment since it was necessary. Science and technology help to maintain prayer life in the spirit. We missed being physically present with other believers. Now that the Bishop has announced that masses will commence from 13 June onwards, it’s indeed a great news for the religious folks, for whom Church is a Home Away from Home”.
A parish priest said, “It was a tough time for us to convince the elders during the lockdown when we stopped masses at church. However, we connected with the churchgoers more through electronic means of communication. Masses were held via TV Channels, Internet and other digital means. We led our services more for faith. The believers reached out to us via phone calls or emails, and we prayed for them. We also stressed to them how important social distancing and staying home were. We believe in God, and we overcame this situation, even though we missed religious services at Churches for over two months. God is great, come join us at the House of God on 13 June”.

After nearly 2 1/2 months Praise the Lord has come back on June 13th. Where was the Praise the lord since 2 1/2 months, was he on vacation for the period in Iceland (an atheist country) and sent lucifer (the evil) in the form of Covid19. Covid19 has killed more than half a million people, nobody said Praise the LOrd but when the churches are getting open we say “Praise the LOrd”. Stop being hypocrite. I am watching the lord of his action day by day but I see a country that is dipped religiously sad to say, the cases… Read more »
At last good news to all of us. Church is a holy place where God will be there to bless us. Also the mostly affected pandemic will disappear very soon due to our prayer with the presence of our lord in the churches.
Is God is confined only to the church or at all places. God does not belong to the church but belongs less inside the church and more outside the church during this pandemic. I hope the Pandemic disappears everybody wants it. Pandemic is man made disaster even god can do nothing about it. Opening of the church is a pleasure to the priests which is like opening of the economy is like pleasure to the leaders and bureaucrats.
Every one shares and express their opinions, you looks like do not go to the church, no problem stay at home, watch TV etc., do not spoil the religious reputation of christianity. For your info no one is forcing anybody to contribute and improve the economy of churches. Churches are called as holy places same as religious leaders praying, leaving their own personal life. Choosing of worshiping and praying is left us instead of criticizing. Bitter agony is sign of Satan.
If Catholics miss their Sunday mass then they get a headache. Yeddy should recompense at once.
Have you noticed, those who finish their mass and come out of the church look all cheerful and relaxed? It’s the same feeling you get after a good Navaratna oil head massage.
More over, if you don’t attend mass then you get no posthumous biriyani, instead you go straight to hell.
Here we have a biscuit whom a psychologist worth his salt would clinically diagnose as a schizophrenic, who believes “God” can only exist inside a building. Little does he know that he was successfully indoctrinated in his childhood against his wishes to believe in a load of bullshit, repeated over 2000 years. He hasn’t left Shaitan alone either.
Our priests and nuns should be awarded a PadmaShri each for producing such geniuses.
