Pramod Madhwaraj delaying Malpe-Padukere bridge construction work – Raghupati Bhat
Udupi: Minister in-charge District Pramod Madhwaraj delaying final stage construction work of Malpe-Padukere for political reasons said former MLA K Raghupati Bhat.
The bridge was scheduled to be completed in the year 2015. The company has stopped construction work following the delay in releasing funds. Minister Pramod keeps on lying saying that the funds released for the construction of bridge work were during his term. The funds are released by the executive engineer and the MLA can take credit only for the allocation and approval of funds.
The fund of rupees 13.5 crore was released by the BJP led government in the State after the efforts of Dr V S Acharya. We have no problems with Pramod Madhwaraj taking credit for the releasing of te funds but he should not delay the construction work of the bridge.
The company which has been constructing the bridge has said that the Rs 3 crore is pending for payment and if the funds are released the work will take another 7 days to complete. Pramod Madhwaraj had assured the completion of work in 45 days but 55 days have passed since he had promised. Madhwaraj is delaying the construction of work so that he could inaugurate the work while elections are nearing.
If the work is not completed severe agitation will be launched against the Minster, he added.
