Pramod Madhwaraj directly supporting Goonda culture in Udupi – Raghupathi Bhat
Udupi: “The district minister in charge Pramod Madhwaraj is directly supporting Goonda culture in Udupi without responding to the incident of manhandling a public person during the CMC general meeting by the ruling party councillors”, alleged Raghupathi Bhat former MLA Udupi.
He was addressing the protesters at the Clock Tower on June 30. The protest was organised by the district BJP against the Udupi City Municipal Council to condemn the incident of Manhandling of a public person during the Udupi CMC general meeting. The congress members have shown disrespect to their own party councillor. They have dragged her unnecessarily. The Udupi Municipality has its own history. For the first time, such an incident was witnessed during the CMC meeting which we strongly condemn.
Raghupathi Bhat further said, “The district minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj has lied to the media persons when they questioned him after the incident. Being in the district on that day he said that he was not aware of the incident. All the state TV medias have telecasted the incident from afternoon, how then was he not aware of it? He should at least condemn the act of the members instead, he is trying to close the case by putting pressure on the police department. The police department has also not registered the FIR against the accused councillors. A case should be filed under Sec 307 of the IPC. Rowdyism and dictatorship of the Congress activists is giving a bad name to the CMC and the district. The people of Udupi will give the right answer to Pramod Madhwaraj in the coming elections”.
District BJP president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that CMC president unable to handle the situation was silent even though her party members manhandled a public person who is innocent and had no idea of the rules and regulations of the House. The Udupi CMC administration has totally failed. The BJP will also approach the SP and demand to register a FIR against the Congress councillors, he added.
BJP councillors Rashmitha Balakrishna Shetty, Shyam Prasad Kudwa, Vasanthi Shetty, BJP leaders Uday Kumar Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Githanjali Suvarna, Shreesha Nayak, Akashith Suvarna, Prabhakar Poojary, Raghavendra Kini, Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Suresh Nayak, Suprasad Shetty and others were present.
