Pramod Madhwaraj distributes Title deeds for NH expansion land losers

Udupi: The title deeds distribution programme was held on October 5, for those who lost their land during the National Highway expansion period at Nittur, Subramanya Nagar.
The programme began with an invocation, Manjunathaih commissioner Udupi city Municipal Council welcomed the gathering.
Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge and also state youth, sport and fisheries minister inaugurated the programme and distributed title deeds to 52 families who lost their land during the National Highway expansion period. The minister also distributed House allocation deeds under the Vajpayee Nagarashrya and Ambedkar Vasathi Yojana scheme for 99 beneficiaries on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering the minister said that the government has made an effort to give title deeds to all deserving families who lost their land and houses during the National Highway expansion period. Those who have lost their land, they have contributed to the development of the nation. We should rehabilitate these people on top priority. The administration has selected beneficiaries in a transparent manner.
The government has provided financial grant to the beneficiaries to construct houses. Beneficiaries should construct houses within a 6 month period, if they fail to construct the houses, the government will take back the land which was granted to them. Government has provided financial grant to the beneficiaries to construct houses. The Revenue Department has put a lot of efforts in preparing the list and making available the title deeds. The beneficiaries should make use of it, he added.
Meenakshi Madhava Bannaje (president CMC) Sandhya Kumari (Vice president CMC) Amrith Shenoy, Sathish Ameen Padukere, Narashimamoothy and others were present.
