Pramod Madhwaraj Inaugurates State’s First Sea Walkway Point at Malpe
Udupi: The Karnataka’s first sea walkway point at Malpe beach was dedicated to the public on Friday, January 26. Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge inaugurated the sea walkway point.
‘Malpe Sea Walkway Point’ will offer visitors the experience of walking in the middle of the sea. The walkway point is 500 meters in length, with a width of 8.5 foot. Other infrastructural facilities include 15 ornamental lights, 30 steel railings on both sides built with laterite stone which will create a unique landmark for Malpe Beach.
Tourists can experience the beach on one side and the Padukere river on the other side, along with a view of three islands at the edge of the walkway which are – St Mary’s Island, Light House Island and Dariagad Island. Visitors can watch fishing boats entering the dock during the evening hours along with the beautiful sunset over the horizon.
CMC president Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi, CEO ZP Shivananda Kapasi, Hormis Noronha, Arun Kumar and others were present.
