Pramod Madhwaraj lays Foundation Stone for Mini Vidhana Soudha in Udupi
Udupi: The foundation stone laying ceremony of the Mini Vidhana Soudha which will to be constructed for Udupi Taluk was held at Bannanje on Wednesday January 18.
The programme began with an invocation; Anuradha Additional DC welcomed the gathering. Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge and also minister for state sports, Youth empowerment and Fisheries laid the foundation stone for the Mini Vidhana Soudha.
In his message Pramod Madhwaraj said that after the congress party came to power in the state as the MLA of Udupi a number of development works have been taken up across the constituency. Rs 1600 crores grant has been given to the Udupi constituency. The revenue department is giving good service to the people. Many people of the state are visiting the Revenue department for their needs. As all the taluk level offices will be shifted come to the mini vidhana soudha, the common man can use all the facilities under one roof.
During my tenure as parliamentary secretary for the Revenu department Rs 5 crore was sanctioned for the mini vidhana soudha. Later the plan was changed and the chief minister now has sanctioned a total of Rs. 7.5 crore for the project. I will try to get additional Rs. 2.5 crore for the additional work, he added.
Government is committed to give a corruption free administration in the state. The officers should also follow the same in their offices. Officers should work with transparency. It is not enough for us to build beautiful buildings. It is also equally important that the officers should give a transparent service to the people, he said.
The 29181.63-sqft two-storey structure will house the offices of the sub-registrar; taluk panchayat; taluk office; assistant director, land records; court hall, Election office, ADLR office; and so on. Tenders have already been sanctioned to Deviprasad Constructions, which is expected to be completed in 8 months.
