Pramod Madhwaraj meets union minister Radha Mohan Singh
New Delhi: Pramod Madwaraj, Minister for Fisheries and Youth Services, Government of Karnataka met Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India at his office in Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi on September 22.
During the meeting, Pramod Madhwaraj requested the minister to release the balance central assistance funds for Fisheries harbour projects in Karnataka. To retain the earlier central assistance pattern of 75:25 for infrastructure projects and also requested to organise “Conference of Fisheries Ministers of the Coastal States” to evolve uniform policies for sustainable development of marine fisheries at Bangalore during November or December 2016.
After a detailed discussion, the union minister agreed to examine the issues and take immediate favourable action.
Devendra Chaudhary IAS, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, and from Government of Karnataka, S R Umashankar IAS, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, H S Veerappa Gowda, Director of Fisheries and Dr C K Murthy, Joint Director of Fisheries were present during the meeting.
