“I am not bothered about who my opponent is from the BJP, I have 100 percent trust that the voters will vote for me in this election. I am not bothered of whoever being the opposition candidate against me in the assembly elections. I will win the elections with a record margin in the state.” I had contested 4 times for the elections and my party workers have supported me in every way. I respect my party workers and the Party.
Speaking about Karkala ticket issue Pramod Said that confusion and differences are always common in every party, the high command will take a proper decision at the right time on all the issues.
Speaking about the election manifesto for Udupi Pramod said already the tender process of bringing water from the Varahi to Udupi is in progress. We will try to implement the project as soon as possible, soon after the elections. The 40 km length project is in the tendering process. The project would solve the water problem in the city limits. Multi villages drinking water schemes which are already proposed would aim at solving the drinking water problems in rural areas.
“I have a dream to set up a government medical college in Udupi and land is required for setting up the college. About 25 acres of land belonging to the Brahmavar Sugar Factory can be used for the purpose. I am hopeful that Udupi district will get a medical college. Once the medical college comes up, a high-tech government hospital will also come up. The title deeds would be given under Parambaku and Gomala land as assured. He added that houses for homeless needy under 94C and 94CC will be given. He said that roads and drainages wherever required would be built. The implementation of the Multi-village scheme, house for landless people has also been taken on a priority basis”, he said.
Expressing his displeasure over the stringent election poll code of conduct, the minister said that elections in the democracy are something to be celebrated and not to be restricted. He said that the restrictions should be only on luring voters and unethical means. He added that the present scenario has led to a gloomy ambiance as poll campaigning should be something to the decree of the political parties that should be abiding by the ethical rules and regulations. Most of the restrictions in place seem to be absurd, he said. However, he was hopeful that it will surely not affect the voting percentage as he felt people are very keen to choose their representative.
He declined to comment on the ongoing tussle within the party in Karkala Assembly constituency. However, he said that there are various layers in the process of decision making and that the party would be embarking on thorough information to ensure victory. He expressed confidence that the differences within the party would be sorted out at the earliest.
