Pramod, Sorake, Arathi and Vijay Kumar aspirants for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru LS polls – Dr Jayamala
Udupi: The Indian National Congress party has 4 aspirants for the Udupi–Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency in the Upcoming Elections. The high command will finalize the candidates and the announcement will be made soon”, said the District Minister In-charge Dr Jayamala speaking to media persons at the DC office here on March 6.
speaking to the media persons Dr Jayamalal said, “In Indian democracy, everyone has the right to contest the elections. Similarly, for the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency we have 4 aspirants, they are former ministers Vinay Kumar Sorake and Pramod Madhwaraj from Udupi, former NRI forum president Dr Arathi Krishna and Chikkamagaluru DCC president Vijay Kumar. The leaders at AICC and KPCC-level have discussed the selection of the candidates for the forthcoming elections. The high command will take the final decision in announcing the names of the candidate. In the Congress party, everyone has the right to demand a ticket and this is the beauty of the Congress party”.
When asked for the name of the candidate for Mangaluru Lok Sabha Constituency Dr Jayamala replied and said, “I am not an aspirant for the ticket. The party has given me the chance to become the minister and I am happy with it. For me the Congress party is like mother, if the party will give me an opportunity to contest in the Lok Sabha elections, I will think about it”.
When asked about MP Shobha Karandlaje Go Back campaign, Jayamala said “I don’t want to comment on it. If you ask the BJP leaders they can answer it well. It is their internal matter and it will help the Congress to win the LS polls”.
