President Ramnath Kovind arrives in Udupi, Visits Sri Krishna Math
Udupi: President Ramnath Kovind arrived in Udupi district here on Thursday, December 26. He was welcomed at the Adi-Udupi helipad by Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala Governor of Karnataka, Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya, Governor of Nagaland, Dr Jayamala district minister in-charge, Dianakar Babu president of Zilla Panchayath, Priyanka Mary Francis Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Laxman B Nimbaragi SP Udupi and other dignitaries
The president will participate in the Guruvandana Programme of Pejawar Swamiji, following which he will visit Sri Krishna Math and temple.
The President will take part in the felicitation programme of Sri Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, organised on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Sanyasa Deeksha of the Swamiji to be held at the Pejawar Math.
Security measures are so tight that all the shops on Car Street and in the vicinity of Sri Krishna Math and the Inspection Bungalow have been closed since Wednesday morning.
Udupi police have diverted the traffic on a few stretches in Udupi town from 7 am to 4 pm on December 27.
