Prime Accused in Ullal Assault case Arrested, Section 144 Extended

Mangaluru: Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar held a press meet at his office here on May 2.

Addressing the mediapersons Chandra Sekhar said, “Special CCB branch consisting of Inspector Valentine D’Souza, PSI Sham Sundar and others have managed to nab three accused involved in the recent Ullal attacks at Pachanady near Vamanjoor.”

image003commissioner-chandrasekhar-20160429-003 The arrested have been identified as Rahul Poojary (22) a resident of Ullal, Prajwal (21) from Amblamogaru and Vineet (22) from Thokkotu. “Rahul Poojary is the mastermind behind the assault at Ullal. We are sure of their involvement but their individual roles are to be further ascertained. Further investigation will be conducted,” police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar said.

“These accused are habitual offenders and are found to be involved in various other cases as well. Section 144 will not be revoked till 6 pm on May 6,” he added.

Commissioner further said that Rahul  is personally  involved in two assault cases in Ullal.Prajwal and Vineet were involved in the Safwan Hasan attempt to murder case on April 26. Earlier 5 persons in this case have been arrested for investigation.
When asked about the condition of the injured, Chandra  Sekhar  said that  all  the  injured  are recovering.  He also said that Rahul Poojary is the member of a gang.
When asked about Baliga murder case Chandra Sekhar said that, at the moment we are concentrating on the Ullal assault case. We will surely do justice with Baliga family.
