Prof. Mathew C. Ninan chosen for Alevoor Group Award
Udupi: Renowned Educationist and Director of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, Prof. Mathew C. Ninan has been chosen for the prestigious Alevoor Group Award instituted by Alevoor Group for Education, Alevoor.
Prof. Ninan had served as the Principal of SMS College, Brahmavar, for 8 years and then as the Principal of Little Rock Indian School for 28 years. He has attended several international conferences on Education held across the globe. He has also written books titled `Soliloquies of a Principal’ in two volumes.
Former Minister and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake will present the Alevoor Group Award, comprising a silver plaque, to Prof. Mathew C. Ninan at the 13th annual day celebrations of Shathiniketan English Medium School, a unit of Alevoor Group for Education, to be held on December 2, Saturday, at 2.30 pm. Chief Planning Officer of Zilla Panchayath, Udupi, A. Srinivas Rao will be the guest of honour. President of the Alevoor Group A. Ganapathi Kini will preside over the programme.
In the past, the Alevoor Group Award, instituted in the year 2005, had been presented to octogenarian P Rabeendra Nayak, environmentalist N Murari Ballal (posthumously), artist Ramesh Rao, renowned social worker Dr S Ramananda Bhat (posthumously), former district surgeon Dr UM Vaidya, Presdent of Alva’s Education Trust Dr Mohan Alva, noted advocate Shirthady William Pinto, Kannada novelist Sara Aboobakar, renowned Gynecologist Dr. Pratap Kumar, noted educationist Prof. M.D. Nanjunda, popular psychiatrist Dr. P.V. Bhandary, Ortnithologist Dr. N.A. Madhyastha, Art Critic A. Ishwaraiah, Tulu Folk Scholar Dr. Y N. Shetty and Magician and Shadow Play Artist Prof. Prahalada Acharya.
