Project Engineer Arrested While accepting Bribe of Rs 30,000
Mangaluru: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Sleuths arrested a project Engineer from Integrated Rural Energy Project while accepting a bribe on October 3.
The arrested has been identified as N Nagesh Project Engineer of Integrated Rural Energy Project.
According to the ACB police, Nagesh demanded Rs 50,000 from an agency to release the Biogas subsidy from the government. Nagesh also demanded Rs 15,000 in the beginning and the rest Rs 35,000 in the next installment, failing to pay he had threatened of not releasing the subsidy for Biogas.
The Agency owner approached the Anti Corruption Bureau and filed a complaint. On October 3, the complainant went to the Zilla Panchayat to pay the amount of Rs 30,000 to the Project Engineer. While receiving the bribe Nagesh was caught red-handed by the ACB police.
Nagesh was arrested and the bribe amount he had received was seized from his possession.
The operation was carried out by ACB SP Shruti N, DySP Sudheer M Hegde, inspector Yogish Kumar, Hariprasad, Radhakrishna K, Prashanth, Vaishali, Rakesh Vagman, Ganesh, Radhakrishna and Rajesh.
