Prostitution Racket Busted at Karangalpady, Four Arrested
Mangaluru: The CCB police busted a prostitution racket and arrested four persons from an apartment at Karangalpady here on October 14.
The arrested have been identified as Santhosh Kumar (32) from Bantwal, Deepak (26) from Bejai Kapikad, Naveen (40) from Permannur and Asha G (23) from Davangere.
On October 13, on getting information that a prostitution racket was being operated on the 5th floor of Divya Mahal apartment, the CCB police raided the apartment and arrested four people including 2 customers. The police seized cash Rs 31,500/-, mobile phones and 2 motorbikes all worth Rs 2.06 lakh from their possession.
According to the police, Asha from Davangere with the help of Santhosh had rented a flat in Divya Mahal, Karangalpady. She had appointed two girls and was running a prostitution racket.
The CCB police rescued both the girls from the apartment and handed over the arrested persons to Kadri Police station for further investigation.
Under the able direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the CCB police.
