Protest Against Kanhaiya, 39 Activists from ABVP, HJV and SRS Taken into Preventive Custody
Mangaluru: Nearly 39 members of ABVP and Sri Rama Sene were taken into custody for staging a protest against Dr Kanhaiya Kumar for participating in the B V Kakkilaya Birth Centenary at Bishop Jathanna Auditorium Balmatta here on August 10.
To mark the birth centenary of freedom fighter and the leader of Communist Party of India B V Kakkilaya, a two-day programme was organized at the Bishop Jathanna Auditorium On August 10. The organizers had invited the leader of All India Students’ Federation Kanhaiya Kumar to deliver a talk on “Indian Youth at Cross Roads”.
On August 10, when Kanhaiya started his speech, nearly 5 ABVP members entered the hall. When the police saw them entering the hall they stopped them and took them into custody. When they were taken out from the hall, other members gathered outside the hall and shouted slogans against Kanhaiya. The Police then took all the protesters into custody.
The Sangh Parivar had spread the message against Kanhaiya’s visit to Mangaluru through the social media.
