Udupi: The locals, on Friday June 15, handed over three people to the police for illegally collecting money from the public in the name of temple renovation. The arrested have been identified as Prasanna, Rajesh, and Shajan who are all residents of Mangaluru.

According to locals, a group of three people visited the Santhekatte and Udupi area as they went about collecting money for the renovation of Kudupu Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple. The gang was also using fake receipts for collecting money from the public. After someone found the movement of one of the gang’s members to be suspicious, the general public caught the gang and interrogated them.
