Pulwama Attack, Failure of Modi Government – Eshwar Khandre
Mangaluru: “The Pulwama attack is a cowardly act and total failure of the BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi. The BJP has no moral rights to be in power”, said the KPCC Working President Eshwar B Khandre in a press meet held at the District Congress Bhavan Mallikatta here on February 25.
Addressing the mediapersons Eshawr said, “Mangaluru is the city of intellectuals and a model city to state as well as the country in terms of education, banking and Medical. This is my first visit to Mangaluru after becoming the working president of KPCC. The Lok Sabha elections are nearing and the Congress will field its best candidates. We have held training camps for the booth-level party workers to prepare for the elections. Through Jana Sapmarka Abhiyan we are bringing awareness among the people about the failure of the BJP government in the centre.”
Eshwar Khandre further said, “On March 9, AICC President Rahul Gandhi will visit Haveri where the party convention will be held. Rahul will tour Haveri and highlight the failures of the Modi government, the promises they had made before the elections and how they fooled the people. The BJP had given many assurances of eliminating Terrorism, curbing corruption, bringing back black money from foreign banks etc. but even after 5 years now, they have failed to fulfill the promises. They have failed to eliminate terrorism, instead, many soldiers have sacrificed their lives. When the terrorists were carrying explosives, what was the intelligence doing in Pulwama? The government has also failed to create jobs, according to a survey, 6.2% of the youth are unemployed. The BJP had assured the farmers of doubling their income but the government did not take any measures to buy their products. The UPA government started the Fasal Bima Yojana but the BJP government changed its name to Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and cheated the farmers.”
Eshwar Khandre also said, “The BJP government is talking about corruption but their leaders themselves are involved in corruption. Through operation Kamala, B S Yeddyurappa tried to destabilize the state coalition government but failed in his attempt. The BJP spent Rs 5000 crores for publicity which is a huge amount. Now the people of the country are fed up with the BJP and this time the Congress will win more seats.”
When asked about the demands for a PM from other parties, Eshwar said, “Being a congressman I want Rahul Gandhi as the prime minister of this country. Before finalizing the candidates we will take all the aspirants into confidence and field the winning candidates”.
Former MLA J R Lobo, MLC and district Congress President Harish Kumar and others were also present.
