Puttingal Tragedy – 3 from Karnataka Severely Injured, One Missing
Bengaluru: According to the office of the nodal officer pressed into action by the state government following the fireworks blast tragedy in Puttingal-Kollam temple in Kerala, three persons are understood to have been severely injured in the incident. Another has been missing.
Four maize traders from Chikkaballapur, as has been their practice over the last four years, had gone to the temple location to sell their produce. Tragedy struck them as they came to watch the fireworks show after the end of business on Sunday.
Among the severely injured are Shivakumar (30), whose left eye is totally damaged, Krishna (22), whose right knee is crushed and Nagaraj (25) whose right leg is fractured. Goorappa, who was with them, has been missing. A search is in progress for him.
