Puttur: The subdivision of police here has an IPS officer after a gap of almost two years. The seat occupied by well-known officials like ASPs Amit Singh, Dr Rohini Katoch-Sepat, M N Anucheth and DySP Bhaskar Rai, will now on be held by C B Ryshyanth.
Anucheth, who until his transfer as the SP of Kodagu in November 2013, had served here, was the last IPS official. Thereafter, Bhaskar Rai, an official from the district crime records bureau (DCRB), held the additional charge of the subdivision on an ad-interim basis.
On Saturday, Ryshyanth took over as subdivisional police officer and assistant superintendent of police in his office located near the Sudana Residential School in Manjalpadpu here.
On the very first day, he attended to a case of robbery that took place in Sullia under his jurisdiction.
He is a 2013 batch IPS officer. He was born and brought up in Bengaluru. After serving in Chikkanayakanahalli as a probationer, he has received his maiden posting as ASP.
