Puttur: Miscreants broke into premises of Dash Marketing, a cigarette distributing firm belonging to Pushparaj Shetty on Wednesday night and took away a stock of cigarettes worth Rs 16 lakh. The theft came to light on Thursday morning.
The cigarettes of different brands were contained in 49 bundles and 17 cases. The stock was kept ready for distribution and delivery to retailers in the warehouse adjacent to the office. The total value has been reported to be Rs 16,24,827.
The miscreants have damaged the CCTV camera before doing the act. Yet, the footage of their entry is said to have remained safe.
The police are investigating the case.
