Puttur Police Seize Unaccounted Cash Rs 18.8Lakh, 3 held
Puttur: The Puttur police have arrested three persons and seized unaccounted cash of Rs 18.8 Lakh, in the Rural Police station limits here on December 7.
The arrested have been identified as Zaffer Sherif (29), Nazir (25) and Mohammed Iqbal (26), all residents of Goltamajal, Kalladka Bantwal.
According to the police, on getting information police inspector, Puttur Town Police station Mahesh Prasad along with his team arrested all the three persons while transporting unaccounted cash of Rs 18.8 lakh and the Ritz car bearing registration number KA 41 N 3434 used for the purpose.
It is learnt that the accused were transporting the currency of Rs 2000 denomination currency notes Rs 16.8 lakh, Rs 100 denomination currency notes of Rs 1.97 Lakh and Rs 50 denomination currency of Rs 9,300 all amounting to Rs 18.8 lakh.
Under the able guidance of SP Bhushan Borase, Additional SP Dr Vedamurthy and ASP of Puttur Rishyanth the operation was carried out by police inspector of Puttur Town Mahesh Prasad, PSI Abdul Khader, Chandra, Vinay Kumar, Rauf, Skaria and Prashanth Rai.
Investigation is on in this regard.
