Puttur Tahsildar Arrested While Receiving Bribe
Puttur: The Tahsildar of Puttur was arrested by the ACB police on June 20, while he was receiving bribe from the owner of Pai caterers for clearing his bills.
The arrested has been identified as Dr Pradeep Kumar, Tahsildar of Puttur.
According to sources, Dr Pradeep demanded Rs 1.25 lakh from the owner of Pai caterers to clear the catering bills, Pai caterers had supplied food during the Lok Sabha elections for the election duty staff in Puttur. The bill was Rs 9.37 lakh. To clear the bill Dr Pradeep had demanded Rs 1.25 lakh from the owner of Pai caterers.
The owner complained about the matter to the ACB police. On June 20 evening while the Tahsildar Dr Pradeep was receiving the bribe he was caught red-handed.
The ACB police are investigating. Dr Pradeep will be produced before the court in Mangaluru.
