Puttur Town Police Constable Rukmaya Dies in Road Mishap
Bantwal: A police constable waiting for the bus was killed when he was hit by a Tanker at Melkar here on January 4.
The deceased has been identified as Rukmaya (48), a resident of Kalladka.
According to sources, on January 4, after finishing his duty he was waiting for the bus to go home. While he was waiting for the bus on the side of the road, a petrol tanker hit Rukmaya. Severely injured Rukmaya was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to injuries.
Rukmaya was working as a Head constable at Puttur Town police station. Previously he had served in Bantwal Town police station, Vittal and other police stations. He is survived by wife and two sons.
A case has been registered in Bantwal traffic police station.
