Puttur: Naveen of Purusharakatte of Narimogaru village had been accused of making repeated calls to an underage girl student and speaking to her in inappropriate language over the past weeks.
She had reported the matter to her parents, who asked her not to receive his calls and ignore them. Angered by this, Naveen reportedly made a trespass into her house, dragged her out and tore her clothes. Besides sexually harassing her, he also took away two mobile sets from the house.
He had gone into hiding ever since. Based on the girl’s complaint, the rural police from here had booked a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.
