Rahul Gandhi to Release Election Manifesto on April 27 – Veerappa Moily

Mangaluru: “On April 27, AICC President Rahul Gandhi will release the State manifesto. The Congress Manifesto is very much important for the people of the state. From the past four months the 15 member committee divided the state into 6 divisions and discussed with the party workers, all the heads of party organizations, experts, student leaders, representatives of farmers, industrialists and workers. The discussion was held in Mangauru, Bengaluru, Hubballi, Dharwad, Gulbarga and Chitradurga. After the discussions, we came to a conclusion on how to manage the Metro city when there are floods, traffic management, beautifying the city etc. We discussed about all the issues during the three rounds. Later all those issues were discussed with political leaders and the experts. Even the level of education from kindergarten to higher education and ways to improve it was discussed. This is the first time in the history of Karnataka, the AICC president is releasing the state Manifesto”, said the former CM of Karnataka Veerappa Moily in a press meet held at the DCC office Mallikatta here on April 26.

Addressing the mediapersons Veerappa Moily said, “The Karnataka government under the leadership of CM Siddaramaiah has studied the vision for every district, “Vision 2015”. In this connection, the committee held discussions with district-level leaders and experts and collected the necessary information on “one district one profile”. We have collected all the information about the requirements of the people of the district and the beneficiaries which is highlighted in “Pratibimba”. We have collected the information from Pratibimba. The Manifesto should be pro-people. We have divided the Manifesto into three parts, they are state-level issues, regional-level and manifesto for 30 districts. In the history of the Congress party for the first time a national leader is releasing the manifesto, this has not happened so far. The Manifesto will represent the entire people of Karnataka. Sam Pitrode has also appreciated our manifesto and said that it is ideal and unique”.

Veerappa Moily further said, “On April 27, at 9:45 am, Rahul Gandhi will release the Manifesto in the TMA Pai hall. The manifesto contains gender issues, children’s issues, health, and agriculture issues. It is not within the limits of our thinking but beyond that, there are transformative changes in the manifesto which will change the life of the people and also in the profile of Karnataka. It is not the final document, in the last elections we had given 160 assurances and fulfilled 159 promises, we have even fulfilled 25% more through Chief Minister. Rahul had said to waive the loan of farmers in Haveri and CM Siddaramaiah fulfilled it and the willpower of the government has been displayed.”

Veerappa Moily also said, “Our manifesto is a comprehensive document and we have highlighted the past, present and future plans and promises in the manifesto. Whatever we have promised we have fulfilled successfully. Through this, we have been able to deliver political, cultural and social security. The PM Modi had assured to create 2 crore jobs every year but he has failed to do it. In Karnataka, we have done it by creating 53 lakh jobs in last five years. With all the adverse circumstances and non-release of funds of BJP government, during the droughts, we have constructed 15 lakh houses. Even in the IT sector, we have created as much as 1.25 lakh jobs and 23.5% of the vibrant growth of the IT is contributed by Karnataka we are competing with the entire world in IT sector. We have a very strong chapter on the gender justice, agriculture, children, tribals, SC/ST, and students in the manifesto.”

Congress leaders U T Khader, U B Venkatesh, Prof Radhakrishna, Suresh Shetty, Sashidhar Hegde, Harsha Moily, Madan Patel, Dhananjay and others were also present.
