Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi has already landed at Mangalore International Airport- and Kudla is all decked up for his visit, with huge colorful hoardings, cut-outs, banners, buntings along his Road Show, when he is taken in a procession from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan. And guess what- tonight for dinner Rahul Gandhi, a ardent seafood lover, will feast on Kudla’s seafood delicacies like- Crab Meat Ghee Roast, Pomfret Butter Fry, Tava Pomfret, Steamed Pomfret, Seer Fish Pepper, Lady Fish Masala Fry, Steamed Prawns etc, meticulously prepared by the Chefs at ‘ The Market’- a seafood eatery joint near St Theresa School-Bendore.
Mangaluru: Nehru Maidan Cricket Ground is all decked up for the public meeting of a president of Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, who is scheduled to address a large gathering here today, Tuesday 20 March 2018 around 6 pm. Huge cut-outs/Hoardings of Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, CM Siddaramaiah and other top Congress honchos have erected along the route of Rahul Gandhi’s all the way to the venue,
The security has also been beefed up in the town and at the venue. A special team deputed by the Congress leadership from New Delhi is coordinating with the local leaders in making arrangements. According to the Congress leaders, Rahul Gandhi arrived at Mangalore Airport at around 11.30am, where he was greeted by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, leaders Mallikarjuna Kharge, Dr G Parameshwar, K C Venugopal, Minister Ramanath Rai, MLC Ivan D’Souza, MLA J R Lobo, MCC Mayor Bhaskar Moily. From the airport, Rahul Gandhi left to Kaup by helicopter at 11.45 to take part in the inaugural of Rajiv Gandhi National Academy of Political Education at Yermal Thenka.
Following that he will hold corner meeting at Padubidri between 1.45 pm to 2.20 pm, and then arrive at Mulky at 3.30 pm, where Dakshina Kannada district Congress Committee will receive him for a 20 minute programme there. At Surathkal a road show is arranged at 4.20 pm – from there he will reach Mangaluru arounnd 5.30pm. A road show is arranged from Jyothi circle and will culminate at Nehru Maidan, where Rahul will address a mammoth crowd, expecting near a lakh of Congress supporters. Following his speech at Nehru Maidan, he will visit Rosario Cathedral, Kudroli Gokaranateshwara Temple, and Ullal Dargha.
Rahul Gandhi is visiting Mangaluru for the first time after being the president of Indian National Congress. He will be staying at a suite room at the Circuit House -Kadri-the same room where PM Narendra Modi has stayed during his recent visit. tonight for dinner Rahul Gandhi a ardent seafood lover, will feast on Kudla’s seafood delicacies like- Crab Meat Ghee Roast, Pomfret Butter Fry, Tava Pomfret, Steamed Pomfret, Seer Fish Pepper, Lady Fish Masala Fry, Steamed Prawns etc, meticulously prepared by the Chefs at ‘The Market’- a seafood eatery place near St Theresa School, Bendore-Mangaluru. It’s not sure whether Rahul along with other VIP’s will dine at this restaurant since the street leading to this eatery joint is narrow-or the food will be delivered to a different location or Circuit house.
All security arrangements are in place with extra Police personnel being deployed. Police personnel from other districts are already in Mangaluru to provide security to this public meeting. In addition, bomb squads are also pressed into action to monitor the situation in and around the Nehru Maidan ground.
