Rahul Johri takes charge as BCCI’s first CEO
New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) Former media professional Rahul Johri on Wednesday took charge as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, in line with the recommendations of the Supreme Court-appointed Justice R.M. Lodha committee.
The national cricket board welcomed the CEO, who will report to Secretary Ajay Shirke.
“BCCI extends a warm welcome to CEO Rahul Johri who takes charge from today,” the BCCI tweeted.
According to the BCCI rulebook, which in itself is under the scanner, the secretary is vested with all the executive powers.
Prior to this, Johri was the Asia Pacific’s executive vice-president and general manager for South Asia with Discovery Networks.
