Raid on Recreation Club at Haikadi, 20 Arrested

Kundapur: A team led by P Krishnakanth – ASP Karkala, raided the Haikadi Friends Recreation Club at Haikadi and arrested 20 people for allegedly indulging in gambling on March 5. The club falls under the jurisdiction of Shankarnarayana Police Station.

The arrested persons are Suresh J Shetty (51) Hiliyana, Subhash Shetty (45) Koteshwara, Victor Pinto (72) Bondel, Sudhakar Ameen (49), Kamalaksha Moolya (45) Bantwal, Shivaram (48) Pumpwell, Sudhakar Shetty (41) Haikadi, Vijay Shetty (53) Avarshe, Muralidhar (46) Saligrama, Basheer (35), Babu Shetty Kundapur (42), Sohan (30), Naveen Honnavar (33), Mohan Naika Honnavar (40), Suresh Shetty Hebri (47), Sandeep Beloor Kundapur (27), Manjunath Beloor Kundapur (28), Prashanth Polipu Kaup (35), Prakash T Gonda Bhatkal (30) and Vinod Kateel (22).

The police also seized Rs 12.23 lakh cash, 12 cars, one mobile, two tables and playing cards from them.

Based on a credible tip, the police team led by P Krishnakanth – ASP Karkala raided the recreational centre.

Shankaranarayana police have registered a case and investigation is on.
