Ramanath Rai Belongs to Kumbakarna Family and Nalin is Not the Laziest MP – Harikrishna Bantwal
Mangaluru: “On July 2, in a press meet held at the Congress office the former district minister in-charge had given an irresponsible statement saying that Nalin Kumar Kateel is the laziest MP and also said that Nalin is found sleeping in the circuit house all the time. Ramanath Rai is giving irresponsible statements to show that he is still in politics. Earlier he was roaming around in a government car with bodyguards but now he has no one to accompany him. He is like a fish in the pond without water. Ramanath Rai belongs to the Kumbakarna family. The statement which Rai has given to the media is condemnable, he should apologize. Ramanath Rai has no moral rights to call Nalin Kumar Kateel the laziest MP”, said the BJP spokesperson Harikrishna Bantwal in a press meet held at the BJP office here on July 3.
Addressing the mediapesons Harikrishna Bantwal said, “Ramanath is saying that when the Congress was in power for five years it was a golden era. But I must say that it was an era of death because many Hindus were murdered, many farmers committed suicide and communal violence. Siddaramaiah’s government was the worst government we have ever seen. Why did not the people vote for Ramanath Rai in the recent Assembly elections? Ramanath Rai’s days are over, he will not win any elections henceforth. The people of Bantwal have given him a befitting reply in the assembly elections. Even the Congress MLAs who had lost in the last elections blame Ramanath Rai for their defeat. MLA J R Lobo, Vasanth Bangera and Shakuntala Shetty are blaming Ramanath Rai for their defeat.”
Harikrishna Bantwal further said, “Ramanath Rai is calling our number one MP a Laziest MP. But he himself is found sleeping in every meeting and we have evidence that he was sleeping even in the assembly. When Ramanath Rai was the district minister in-charge he supported those involved in sand mining and transport. The former Bantwal panchayat president with the support of Rai has been involved in illegal mining since 2008 in the government land without permission. After approaching the court the court had brought a stay for mining in that land. In Mularpatna when there was sand mining, the Bantwal Inspector Manjayya Shetty raided the spot but he was assaulted by the goons. Those who are involved in sand mining are with Ramanath Rai”, Harikrishna Bantwal alleged.
Harikrishna also said, “Ramanath Rai tried to contest in the MLC elections but the high command did not give him the ticket, he is now trying to contest the MP elections. If Ramanath Rai contests for the MP elections it will be a bumper for the BJP. Ramanath Rai has no moral rights to talk about MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. Ramanath Rai should take a break and rest at home. If anyone in the history of Karnataka has dosed of the highest during sessions it is Ramanath Rai, even during programmes, Ramanath Rai was found sleeping the highest number of times and the TV channels have highlighted it. Till date, no TV channels have captured Nalin Kumar sleeping during any programmes. Ramanath Rai is the least liked person in Bantwal. In Dakshina Kannada, there was communal violence, cow trafficking or murder it is because of Ramanath Rai. He did not allow any good officer to continue working in Dakshina Kannada. The Congress party is a divorced party. In the state, the Congress party come down to 78 and in the district, it has got only one seat.”
When asked about welcoming the Congress MLAs who had lost the Assembly elections to the BJP, Harikrishna said, “If they come to BJP, they are most welcome.”
When asked about the double standards by Harikrishna Bantwal of criticizing the BJP when he was in the Congress and after joining BJP criticizing the Congress, Harikrishna Bantwal said, “Party and aims are two different issues.”
BJP leaders Jitendra Kottari, Corporator Premanand Shetty, Pooja Pai and others were also present.
