Ramanth Rai Releases District Congress Manifesto
Mangaluru: Former District minister in-charge B Ramanth Rai released the District Congress Manifesto at the DCC office Mallikatta here on April 7.
After releasing the manifesto addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said, “We have released the Congress manifesto on behalf of our MP candidate Mithun Rai. We are assuring the People of fulfilling their demands through the manifesto. Congress has its own history, DK being an intellectuals district many Congress leaders have contributed a lot. Our former Congress MPs have done a lot of development work in the district. Benegal Shiva, Ullal Srinivas Mallya, Poonacha, K Shetty, Shankar Alva and Janardhan Poojary have done a lot of development work like the Airport, harbour, NITK engineering college, National Highway, Railway line, Modern Passport office, ESI hospital and many more. Our manifesto is not a Jumbla one, we have earlier fulfilled and will fulfill all the promises made in this manifesto”.
Ramanath Rai further said, “In the district, the Congress started Mazagon Dock but the BJP government shifted it to Mumbai without our knowledge. The Indian Horticulture Research center from Sullia Kidu Bilinele has been shifted to Hyderabad. The BJP governments contribution is shifting everything from Mangaluru to other states. Even the Vijaya Bank has been merged with banks running on loss, the Vijaya bank employees had gone to Delhi and met Rahul Gandhi and he has assured them of reversing the process if the Congress comes to power in the center.”
Ramanath Rai also said, “In the coastal district we have ample opportunity to develop tourism and we need relaxation of the CRZ norms. We have urged the central government to relax the CRZ norms. The national highway from Mangaluru – Bengaluru will be constructed into a four-lane Highway and the work will start soon. The contract has been given to L&T company but the BJP is misleading the people. The work of the National Highway from Bikkarnakatte – Moodbidri will also start soon.”
KPCC Vice President Prof K E Radhakrishna, District Congress President Harish Kumar, Former MLAs J R Lobo, Abhayachandra Jain, Shakuntala Shetty, KPCC Secretary Mehroz Khan, Vinayraj and others were also present.
