Ramya’s video clip on fake social media account goes viral

Bengaluru: A video clip, showing AICC social media chief Ramya, explaining how fake social media accounts work drew attention on Tuesday.

The BJP used the clip as a counter to another video clip of its leader K S Eshwarappa urging partyworkers to lie as part of an election campaign, which had gone viral.

The Congress used this to mount an attack on the saffron party. The video clip of Ramya was tweeted by BJP Karnataka’s social media covener Balaji Srinivas. “Sandalwood queen Ramya explains how to create fake accounts in social media,” he tweeted.

“So today, you will create three accounts in the names of others,” Ramya is seen and heard saying in the video clip. “Fake accounts are bots, meaning robots or machines. There’s nothing in a person having multiple accounts,” she goes on to explain in the video clip.
