The president of RKV Franklin Monteiro welcomed the gathering and said that nine years ago we lost 164 people including police officers, soldiers and the general public in the Mumbai terror attack. On November 26, 2008, Pakistani terrorists entered Mumbai and carried out a series of attacks in the city. To deal with the terrorists, the Mumbai police got into action immediately. When the police were unable to handle the situation the government asked the help of the commandos and the commando operation was launched on November 27 led by Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan from Bengaluru.
