Ready to file Criminal Case against other Swamijis to bring back ‘Sri Anna Vittala’ -Lakshmivara Swamiji
Udupi: “In Sri Krishna Math the deities, Sri Krishna or Sri Rama are not my Assets but ‘Sri Anna Vittala’ deity is my asset and if necessary to get back the assets, I am ready to file a criminal case against other Swamijis”, warned Shiroor Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji. He was speaking to media persons at the Shiroor Moola Math on July 16.
“If people are going outside they will keep their jewellery items and other valuables with trustworthy people. It is a rule that they will return their property when they return home. If they refuse to return their assets then it is cheating. The same way I had given our Maths presiding deity for performing puja and now they are refusing to return the deity which is also a type of cheating. When the time comes, I will be ready to file a criminal case to get back my presiding deity,” he said.
“As per the tradition of Udupi Sri Krishna Temple that every Math should have their own presiding deity. It is a rule in the Asta Maths that the respective Swamiji should be performing the Puja to the presiding deity of their Math every day. In case of some emergency, other Swamijis can perform the rites, given that the puja is offered daily”.
“Some Swamiji’s also take the presiding deity with them when they go outside in the vehicle. But according to the tradition, the Swamiji has the power to open the box of the presiding deity. The Shiroor Maths presiding deity is currently offered prayers at the Sri Krishna Math”.
“The other seven Swamijis have already called a meeting and choose a Swamiji as their leader. Everyone knows who that Swamiji is. In their meeting, the Swamijis had decided that the presiding deity, which is currently under the possession of Palimaru Sri Vidhyadheesha Theertha Swamiji, would be handed over to the Shiroor Math Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji only after he appoints a junior Swamiji. Who are they to instruct me to appoint a junior Swamiji?” he questioned.
“I am not interested to go to their meeting and they don’t need to call me. I will bet, Sri Krishna Mukya Prana will send back my Maths presiding deity very soon. The present Paryaya Palimaru Swamiji Sri Vidhyadheesha Theertha Swamiji has appointed a gunman inside the Sri Krishna Math. But I really wanted a gunman and not the Palimaru Swamiji,” he said.
