Real Madrid back to training after Celta Vigo clash postponed
Madrid, Feb 6 (IANS) Real Madrid returned to training after the football match against Celta Vigo in round 21 of Spain’s La Liga was postponed due to a powerful storm that hit northern Spain and damaged the host’s Balaidos stadium.
French coach Zinedine Zidane led a training match and reinforced the session with players from Real Madrid Castilla on Sunday, reports Efe.
Thus, Alvaro Tejero, Lin Liangming, Jaime Seoane, Cristian Cedres and Nikos Vergos joined the workout.
Meanwhile, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez trained individually, while Dani Carvajal and Gareth Bale continued to recover from their injuries.
The Real Madrid-Celta Vigo clash was the second match to be postponed due to bad weather after Deportivo La Coruña’s game against Real Betis was cancelled on Friday following the damage incurred to the roof of the Riazor stadium.
Real Madrid was leading La Liga’s standings with 46 points and ahead of second-placed Barcelona with only one point, though Los Blancos still have two postponed matches to play against Valencia and Celta Vigo.
