Madrid, Feb 8 (IANS) Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane believes his team needs to “improve everything” after their late 2-1 win over Spanish football club Granada.
Midfielder Luka Modric’s brilliant 85th minute goal on Sunday ensured Zidane had a fourth win in his first five games as head coach. Real are presently third on the points table, four points adrift of leaders and arch-rivals Barcelona.
“We are going to try to improve everything – at the back and in attack because we need to score more goals. We had a lot of chances and we know that at this level we need to put them in order to be a bit more relaxed in our play,” Zidane was quoted as saying by BBC on Monday.
Defender Dani Carvajal, who provided Karim Benzema with the assist for the opening strike, believes they are still in the hunt for the La Liga crown.
“Modric’s goal allows us to stay in the hunt for La Liga and fight until the end. Until it is mathematically impossible, we are going to give everything. We are going to take it game by game, which is ultimately what will lead us to titles,” he said.
