Religion is Personal Affair which Should Not be Glorified – Dinesh Amin Mattu

Udupi: “Fake nationalists who are destroying the country on the basis of religion should be suppressed with the ideology adapted by the Indian National Congress”, said Media Adviser to Chief Minister of Karnataka Dinesh Amin Mattu. He was addressing the gathering while celebrating 75 years of Quit India Movement organised by the District Congress and Congress Seva Dal, here on August 9.

Addressing the gathering Dinesh said, “The nation is in a crisis caused by communal forces, the nation has to be made fear free by reining in the communal forces. Discussions are now on nationalism, the promoters of nationalism have vested interests of destroying democracy. The RSS and nationalists are promoting fake nationalism to gain publicity. Organisations which have played no role in the freedom struggle are promoting nationalism which is a disgrace to the country. People who adore democracy in the country with true constitutional spirit need to play an effective role in safeguarding the country from the vested interests. People promoting fake nationalism should be unmasked for the betterment of the country”.

Dinesh further said, “There is a need to suppress efforts to destroy the social fabric of the country in the name of Hindu religion. We should adapt to the Hindu religion professed by Swami Vivekananda, Bramharshi Naryana Guru and not the Hindutva professed by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and Amit Shah. Some Hindu organisations are working as agents of political parties for the election campaign. Religion is a personal affair which should not be glorified. The Hindu Seers and Sages should work towards initiating peace in the society. One should not utilise his religion for political benefit rather influence society to love every person without religious bias”.

Dinesh also said, “The constitutional institutions are at stake due to the influence of money politics, institutions have become the tools of revenge politics. Money politics is a set back for democracy in the country where voters are given money for votes. The utilisation of money in politics was clearly visible in the Rajya Sabha polls held in Gujarat. The Election Commission has effectively worked for the restoration of faith in democracy by intervening at the right time”.

PM Narendra Modi led government in the centre has created fear and ruckus in the country. Youth should play a larger role in protecting democracy and restoring love for the country. The Congress Party prior to the public meeting at the Clock Tower Udupi hoisted the flag and later in a rally starting from the Congress Bhavan, Udupi moved to the Clock Tower.

Minister in-Charge District Pramod Madhwaraj, Former MLA Gopal Bhandary, President of Udupi Urban Development Authority Narasimha Murthy, District Vice-President Prakyath Shetty, KPCC Secretary Veronica Cornelio, Chairman of Minorities Development Corporation MA Gafoor, CMC President Meenakashi Madhav Bannaje, President of Publicity Cell Udupi Constituency Amrith Shenoy, District Youth Congress General Secretary Vignesh Kini, NSUI district president Christen D’Almeida, Udupi Block youth congress president Prashanth Poojary, Seva Dal district president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Jyothi Hebbar, Chandrika Shetty, Harish Kini, Janardhan Bhandarkar, Neeraj Patil,  Udyavara Nagesh Kumar, Yathish Karkera, Dr Sunitha Shetty, Krishnaraj Sralaya and others were present.
