Research Methodology Workshop a Boon for Quality Research – Prof Aloysius Sequeira
Mangaluru: Research inculcates scientific and inductive thinking and it promotes the development of logical habits of thinking and organization. To have the quality research we need a sound methodological base of research among the budding educationists and researchers to cope up with future challenges. A good research methodology is a key to sound research output, said Prof Aloysius Henry Sequeira of National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal.
Prof Sequeira was speaking after inaugurating and releasing the workshop CD of the three-day National level workshop on the theme ‘Empowering scholars for an effective research design’ at Besant Evening College, Mangalore. As per our prime minister Narendra Modiji, ‘Make in India’ is our vision of the country for development. To reach the ‘Make in India’ goal, original research should take place in India. He further said that in India there is a research draught and very few research are the real, there is a huge scope for quality research in India. We should love researching and enjoy doing it. He also said that the plagiarism is the curse for research and it reduces the quality of research.
Another chief guest, Dr Ashalatha K from Justice K S Hegde Institute of management, Nitte released the in-house journal ‘global research review’ and said that research is closely related to academic issues. We cannot change the past but we can change the future and it is possible only through quality research. The research methodology workshop of this kind will definitely improve the quality of research.
The president of Women’s National Education Society presided over the function and said that research is an important part of human life and congratulated the organizers for conducting such a need based workshop.
The principal of the college, Dr Carmelita Goveas introduced the guests on the dais and welcomed the gathering. The organizing secretary, Dr. Vasappa Gowda spoke about the workshop.
