Revised Order on Gomala Land to Benefit People – Kagodu Thimmappa

Manipal: “An order enabling to provide title deeds for agricultural land and housing sites under 94C and 94CC will be formulated”, said Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa while reviewing the revenue department Forms 50, 53, 94C and 94CC at Rajathadri, Manipal here on March 9.

A revised order on Gomala land has been formulated and has been circulated to the district administration for effective implementation said deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis. The cabinet sub-committee has been reviewing the Kumki and Deemed Forest land and an order will be passed in the coming days. The Supreme Court of India in an order has indicated the Kumki land as government land, a circular on the directions of the apex court will be circulated. The circular has been effectively implemented by the revenue department officials.

Village-Forest committee has been directed to receive applications on Forest Rights Act. A circular on Gomala has been sent to the Tahsildars across the state and the same has to be effectively implemented.

Eligible beneficiaries should benefit from the government schemes, Tahsildars should make special efforts in reaching out to the people. The Shivamogga model on Forest Rights Act has to be implemented for solving issues on forest land. A joint meeting will be held with the Forest Minister Ramanath Rai on the problems of D.K and Udupi district. There is no shortage of funds, the work related to drought have to be effectively implemented. He instructed deputy commissioner Priyanka to prepare a report on the drought and drinking water issues.

The rectification of tenancy rights in RTC’s (podi mukhtar grama), Pension Adalat, Surveying, Appointments and Recruitments, Hostels, reservation of land and other issues were effectively discussed.

The panchayat can function effectively if the circulars sent by the various departments are read and followed, Tahsildars should take special note of the same, he added.

District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, Kundapur MLA Halady Shrinivas Shetty, Byndoor MLA and President of KSRTC Gopal Poojary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuradha, Assistant Commissioner Shilpa Nag, Ashok Kumar Shetty, Tahsildars, Executive Officers and others were present.
