Revoke the suspension order of Udupi Town PSI Ananthapadmanabh – MLA Raghupathi

Udupi: Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat has demanded to revoke the suspension order of Udupi Town PSI Ananthapadmanabh.

Speaking to the media persons on Tuesday, November 12 MLA Raghupati Bhat said, “On November 11, the district SP had suspended PSI Ananthapadmanabh without any reason; she should revoke the suspension order immediately. We condemn the act by the SP. As an MLA of Udupi, I condemn the decision of the SP. If PSI has been involved in corruption or illegal activities the SP has the right to suspend”.

Raghupati Bhat further said, “Ten days ago, a boy and girl from different communities were misbehaving in Ajjarkad Bhujanga Park. The public who noticed the act assaulted the boy. The Town police received the information and rushed to the spot and brought the boy and girl to the police station. The police then informed the family members and asked them to come to the police station. PSI Ananthapadmanabh warned the boy and the girl before sending them home without filing any case.”

After 5 days the youth along with some community leaders met the District SP and filed a complaint against the assailants. The SP registered an FIR and suspended PSI Ananthapadmanabh without asking for any clarification.

Raghupati also said, “Ananthapadmanabh was appointed by former MLA and has worked impartially in the Udupi Town Police Station. He has been working in Udupi for the last three years without any complaints. When our government came to power we did not transfer him from Udupi. He is a people-friendly officer and working with integrity handling all the cases in a responsible manner. This case also, he tried to solve it amicably. I have already informed the home minister and the western range IGP, they should revoke his suspension immediately. He should continue to work at the Udupi town police station.”
