Rider Dies in Scooter-bus Collision at Naringana
Mangaluru: Purushottam (60), hailing for Belma near Konaje, died in a road mishap that took place at the Sarkudelu turn of Naringana village around Tuesday noon.
He had worked as a waiter in a restaurant at Taudugoli and had left the job about three months ago. He was quite popular with the other staff and clients of the restaurant. He had arrived at his former workspot on the day and spent some time there in a jovial spirit.
Soon thereafter he went to a bakery next door and bought some ready-to-eat delicacies. Leaving the place, he rode his scooter towards Taudugoli. At Sarkudelu, a private bus plying between the city and Taudugoli collided with the scooter. He reportedly died on the spot.
The bus dragged him over a distance of about 10 metres. He had bought the scooter just two days earlier from another person.
The rural station police have registered a case.
