RKM’s Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan Completes 34 weeks
Mangaluru: The Thirty-Fourth week of 14 cleanliness drives of the 400 Abhiyans being organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru took off on Sunday, 28th May 2017 at 14 different locations in the city.
391 Hampankatta– As the Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan was reaching the target of 400 drives a special drive was arranged in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha. Swami Jitakamanandaji thanked the volunteers for their dedication in consistently carrying on with the cleanliness drives for the past 9 months. Capt. Ganesh Karnik addressed the volunteers. Swami Gitamritanandaji of Allahabad Ramakrishna Math and Veena Shetty, Senior Manager, MRPL jointly flagged off the drive. Shreesha Kramaran, Lecturer Ashok Kamath, Ravindra K and several others participated in the drive. Students from Govt. college of Teachers Education cleaned the area from Clock tower to A B Shetty circle.
392 Yekkur– The members of Hindu Yuva Sena and localities carried out the drive in Yekkur area. Tejaswini Acharya and Rohith Poojary flagged off the drive. Volunteers cleaned the roads and adjoining drains. Along with the locals, several schools going boys and girls too voluntarily joined the drive. Prashanth coordinated the volunteers. The devotees of Sri Ayyappa Bhajana Mandira and members of Nandadeepa Mahila Mandali participated in the drive.
393 Bhavanthi Street– The devotees and volunteers of Sri Gokarna Parthagali Math carried out the cleanliness drive from Bhavanthi Street to Nandadeepa road. Tapan Shenoy and Shivani Rao flagged off the drive. They cleared the weeds and grass on the footpaths and cleaned the roadsides. Kamalaksha Pai coordinated the team.
394 Mangaladevi – The members of Sharada Mahila Vrinda, Nivedita Balaga and Bhagini Samaj jointly carried out the cleanliness drive in Mangala Nagar and Mangaladevi Road. Nandini Raghuchandra and Vinayak Prabhu jointly flagged off the drive. Volunteers cleaned the Mangaladevi Road and areas in Mangala Nagar. Mani Rai, Chitra Prabhu, Rathna Alva and others actively participated in the drive.
395 Kodialbail– The members of Team Prerana took up the drive at PVS Circle and surrounding areas. C S Bhandary and Ramachandra Rao jointly flagged off the drive. K S Upadhyaya coordinated the drive and guided the volunteers in cleaning the road and rooting out the weeds and thick grass. They also removed the construction debris.
396 Ganapathi High school Road – The members of Sri Krishna Bhavan Auto Stand took up the drive in GHS Road and surrounding areas. Along with GHS Road they cleaned the main roads in front of University College and footpaths.
397 Ashok Nagar – The members of MCF Mangala carried out cleanliness from Ashok Nagar to Urwa Market. Prabhakar Rao flagged off the drive. Jayaram Karandoor, P Jayashankar Rai and others participated in the drive. Avinandan Achanalli and Suresh coordinated the volunteers.
398 Clock Tower Circle – The members of Hindu Warriors team carried out cleanliness work near the Clock tower and Hampankatta area. Volunteers removed the weeds in Clock Tower Circle and cleaned the artwork painted on the University College Compound and Wenlock Hospital compound for maintenance. Shivu Puttur, Yogish Kayarthadka, Manohar Poojary, Ganesh Pangala and many others actively participated in the drive.
399 Bolara – The members of Sri Amba Maheshwari Mandira carried out cleanliness work in Bolar area. G Gangadhar and Bhujanga Shetty flagged off the drive. Volunteers cleaned the Bolara Primary school and surrounding areas including the Jeppu market area. They created awareness campaign too visiting houses and shops door to door. Sumanth, Nishanth, and others participated in the drive. Kamalaksha and Punith coordinated the team.
400 Nanthur – The members of Dakshina Kannada Havyaka Sabha took up the drive near Bharathi College in Nanthur. Chief General Manager of Karnataka Bank, Raghavendra Bhat flagged off the drive in the presence of Swami Ekagamyanandaji. Volunteers later cleaned the National Highway and surrounding areas including the Vivekananda road. Dr Rajendra Prasad and Venugopal Mambady coordinated the volunteers.
402 Karangalpady– Local Auto drivers of Karangalpady auto shelter carried out cleanliness work in Karngalpady area. M R Vasudev flagged off the drive. Krishnappa coordinated the drive.
403 Yeyyadi – The members of Team Friends forEver carried out cleanliness drive on the Airport Road and Yeyyadi area. Ashok Kumar Hegde, Regional Manager of Shalimar Paints and Forer Executive Engineer of MESCOM Sukumar flagged off the drive. Charan Prasad Adyanthaya, Nirmal Kumar, K V Prasad, M S Prabhakar Padavinangady, Balakrishna Rai and Several others actively participated in the drive.
404 Pumpwell – Cleanliness drive was carried out in Pump well circle area. Advocate Ashwin Nayak and Social Activist Pooja Rai flagged off the drive. Volunteers cleaned the pump well circle and the police Chowk. Nihal Shetty, Vidhat Rai and Several others participated in the drive.
