Ron Roche Cascia Recipient of Victor Rodrigues Memorial Literary Award
Mangaluru: Talented Konkani writer Ron Roche Casia will be presented with the Victor Rodrigues Angelore Memorial literary award, initiated by Samanvaya organisation of Mangaluru, during an Award Ceremony to be held at the Infant Jesus Shrine Auditorium-Bikkaranakatte on 9 July 2017 at 6 pm.
Ron Roche has written 14 novels and nearly 60 short stories. His articles are published in all Konkani magazines. His age has not been an impediment for his writings as he continues to write for magazines. Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus had commended the writings of Ron Roche. Similarly, comedy writer CGS Taccode has called him as ‘Nigud Kaniyancho Messiah – Ron Roche Cascia’.
Ron Roche is also a good singer. He has presented nearly 60 songs in dramas and programmes after forming a musical group with his companion poet Lawrence D’Souza.
The family of Victor Rodrigues Angelore and Samanvaya organisation said that they are honoured to felicitate Ron Roche Cascia who has contributed to Konkani in such large measure.
Ron Roche was born on May 25, 1947, to A J P Roche and Fabiana Furtado. Very intelligent since childhood he started his own business, employing hundreds of workers. Even though he was fully engaged with his business, he never gave up his hobby of writing. Married to Gracy Maria D’ Souza, he is a proud father of three daughters.
