Rosario Central stay top of Superliga Argentina
Buenos Aires: Rosario Central struck either side of halftime as they maintained their lead at the top of the standings in the Superliga Argentina football tournament with a 2-0 victory over San Martin de Tucuman.
Uruguayan midfielder Washington Camacho put the hosts ahead with a long-range effort just after the half-hour mark on Sunday and Fernando Zampredi doubled the lead by firing in off Alfonso Parot’s pass, reports Xinhua news agency.
It was Rosario Central’s third win from as many matches and they hold a two-point lead over second-placed Racing Club, who won 3-0 at Patronato on Friday.
In Sunday’s other fixtures, Banfield drew 1-1 at Velez Sarsfield, Alosivil won 1-0 at Lanus, and Boca Juniors could only manage a 0-0 draw at Huracan.
