Rousing welcome for Hegde sets off speculation he may be CM nominee
Bengaluru, (DHNS): Hardline Hindutva leader and Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde received a rousing welcome at the launch of the BJP Parivartan Yatra in the city on Thursday.
This set off speculation in the inner circles of the party that he may be made the chief minister if the BJP gets a majority after next year’s elections. This was prior to the arrival of the party’s national president Amit Shah to inaugurate the rally.
However, the speculation was brushed aside by BJP leaders, who said former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was still their chief ministerial candidate and there was no change in it.
