Rs 1700 crore grant spent for the Development of Kaup – Vinay Kumar Sorake

Udupi: “In last Five years, the Kaup Assembly constituency has seen overall development including education, industry, tourism, roads, water facility, development of religious centers etc. As many as Rs 1700 crore grants have been spent for the development of the Kaup Assembly constituency”, said Vinay Kumar Sorake while addressing the voters during the door-to-door campaign at the Kaup assembly constituency.

Elaborating on the work carried out during his tenure, Sorake said, “Kaup has been upgraded as a taluk from town municipality. There is a need for a 100-bedded government hospital, Mini Vidhan Soudha, and a court among others. There was no identity for Kaup even for simple work, the public from Kaup had to go to Udupi. However, the taluk status would enable all required administrative amenities, the public should be happy for the convenience that has been made available by the Congress government”.

He said that a science centre which was proposed at a cost of Rs 70 crore should be set up. While a Government polytechnic college at a cost of Rs 10 crore will also be set up.

The present issue for fighting the poll is development vs Negative publicity. He added that the constituency has been upgraded as a Taluk. However, additional development work is required. If the Congress comes back to power, the government would release funds for all required projects, he said.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, Kaup Block president Naveenchandra Shetty, campaign committee president Dinesh Kotian, Vishwas Ameen, Deepak Kumar and others were present.
