Rs 4.52lakh cash stolen from ATP at Padubidri
Udupi: Miscreants burgled an anytime payment (ATP) machine of MESCOM and decamped with Rs 4.52 lakh cash at Padubidri on Tuesday night.
The ATP machine was located in a area which was not frequented by people in the night as there were no other commercial establishments.
Sources in Padubidri police station said that list of previous offenders, who were engaged in similar attempts, was being verified and the culprits would be known soon after the thorough investigation.
The burglary came to light on Wednesday morning after the passersby informed police about the incident.
The police who rushed to the spot, inspected the place and have registered a case.
No CCTV cameras had been fixed at the spot and this has made the job a challenging one for the investigating team.
