He further said “FMHT renders remarkable preventive and health care at the doorsteps of the community to the suffering humanity with compassion and respect. While we ares stepping into our sixth year, we thank the Almighty for showering His blessings on us in making us reach greater heights in such a short period of time. It is indeed a matter of joy and pride for me to be an administrator and all the tireless effort of each one you is appreciable. The dedicated team of our doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel have strived to provide high-quality, affordable and personal health care that respects the needs and dignity of each person served. I am grateful to Dr Kiran Shetty-Medical Superintendent, Fr Richard Coelho director FMCI, and all the doctors, nurses, and all ancillary staff of our hospital for their dedicated service. At FMHT we always look forward to upgrade or renovate our existing infrastructure or medical facilities, and today is a great day when we have launched the state-of-the-art Renovated Operation Theatres, which will serve for better and fast treatment of patients”.

Dr Shodhan M-the Managing Director of Pharma Tech Industries, Mangaluru who undertook the renovation of the OT’s said, “This renovation was rated as ONE of the best OT’s in the Country by a bevy of professional doctors from a reputed hospital, having branches in Chennai and Sri Lanka. The OT’s have all the sophisticated equipment required during surgeries, from minor to major ones. The main feature of these OT’s is the Laminar Flow Modular Stainless Steel, and nearly 8.5 tonne of AC power keeps the OT’s cool, for better operation and comfort of the patients. The circulated air keeps the OT’s cool through this new system. Also maintenance cost is low”

Director of FMCI, Fr Richard Coelho also speaking on the occasion said, “In its journey of SIX years now, Father Muller Hospital Thumbay has always stood firm on its central mission of providing quality healthcare services, mainly to the rural and disadvantaged poor people. Its core values embraced the principles of excellence in service and collaboration with local leaders and other stakeholders. Our aim is to improve the health of our community every day and our slogan, “We care for you at every step“. To accomplish this, we remain current with facility and I am pleased to say that Father Muller Hospital Thumbay is now equipped with all the state of the art facilities, and this renovated OT’s adds yet another feather to FMCI. Our dream of Thumbay is to reach to the un-reached, to love the unloved and care the un-cared and to serve the marginalized and less privileged people of the society. Kudos to the entire team of FMHT, and my prayer to all those who visit Fr Muller Hospital-Thumbay, that you may find peace, joy and solace.”

“Now that we have state-of-the-art renovated OT’s, it is the duty of the doctors to see that they handle the surgeries and treatment to the best of their abilities, without any errors, if not all our efforts in spending nearly Rs 50-60 lakhs on this facility will be a waste. Make sure doctors gain faith and respect from their patients, while they treat them. The Bible speaks often of miraculous healing through the work of Jesus Christ and faith in God. Our Lord is able to provide comfort and healing for you and your loved ones. But doctors also play a vital role in healing of patients. Treat your patients with utmost care and make a difference. Let’s make FMHT a place of ‘Heal & Comfort'” added Fr Coelho.

On the occasion, few persons were felicitated for their dedication and commitment during the renovation of the OT’s-they were Dr Shodhan M; Michael Pereira- Maintenance In-charge FMCI for the last 18 years; Sandeep S- from Blue Star AC for providing cooling system for the OT’s; Maxim Crasta- for the OT’s electrical work; and few others but who weren’t present during the progarmme.
